Some people are old at 18 and some are young at 90. Time is a concept that humans created.

As a female artist who has dated guys in bands and often been accused of being “a bad influence” on them, I have clung to the knowledge that amidst the sexism and unfairness of her mainstream portrayal, Ono has still managed to radiate joy and hope […] She clearly doesn’t give a shit about maintaining status in the art world, receiving awards, or being recognized. She simply wants to make smart, inclusive work that makes the world a better place.

i don’t trust people who dislike yoko ono.

#IF YOU THINK SHE BROKE UP THE BEATLES (LOL SOMEONE NOT IN A BAND CAN’T BREAK UP SAID BAND OKAY) YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELF (B4 U WRECK YOURSELF)

#if you don’t think yoko ono is fucking awesome you are wrong  #john lennon was a misogynistic dickbag and yoko ono made him into a decent human being  #the end

Privilege is the absence of equality. The mainstream misogynist culture attacked Yoko Ono because John Lennon dared to suggest that she was an artist on the same level as himself, equally as important as he was in the world. That her ideas were just as if not more valuable than his. That his consciousness and practice were being expanded through collaborating with her, similar to (and building on) the way it had been expanded through his songwriting and friendship with Paul McCartney. Mainstream culture privileges bromance over romance because it privileges men over women.

Letter Of Note of the Day: In 1972, after the INS under Nixon began deportation proceedings against John Lennon and Yoko Ono, their friend Bob Dylan wrote the government this handwritten letter.
Transcript:

JUSTICE for John & Yoko!
John and Yoko add a great voice and drive to this country’s so called ART INSTITUTION / They inspire and transcend and stimulate and by doing so, only can help others to see pure light and in doing that, put an end to this mild dull taste of petty commercialism which is being passed off as Artist Art by the overpowering mass-media. Hurray for John & Yoko. Let them stay and live here and breathe. The country’s got plenty of room and space. Let John and Yoko stay!
Bob Dylan.
